A key to maintaining your resolutions for health in 2010

Did you make a New Year Resolution to make any improvements in your health this year?... perhaps to get into better shape, lose weight, live a more active or balanced lifestyle, or improve your diet?
(If not, it's never too late!)
My resolution is to pump more iron in the gym, and put on an extra 20 pounds of lean muscle. I'll be sure to let you know how it goes!
If your resolutions pertain in any way to your health and fitness, then I have something to share that is intended to help you achieve your goals!
Yup, you guessed it ...it's nutrition related!
Many of you have read my previous nutrition newsletters that delve into the science and strategy of healthier eating, and have then achieved tremendous benefit from practicing these concepts.
But with this newsletter I would like to share with you something else:
It's a perspective, ...on achieving your best health possible.
IT IS SIMPLY THIS:
A STRONG DESIRE FOR BETTER HEALTH IS ALL YOU NEED!

First consider this: It is only the last 10-20 years that we have had the most incredible variety of fresh organic fruit, vegetables, whole grains, and superfoods available to us, year round! And the technology of exercise equipment plus the support and encouragement available from professional trainers is far better than ever before! This gives us an incredible advantage in achieving even the most prestigious health & fitness goals! These health and fitness resources coupled with your Strong Desire for achievement is a recipe for sure success ...it's almost inevitable!
So what's missing?...why are we not already there?
For many of us, it simply this: that we don't believe in ourselves. And so desire becomes little since we feel that our goals are unachievable. Take heart!... YOU WILL SUCCEED! There is one more element to add to this formula. And Master Yoda from Star Wars said it best... : "Do or do not. There is no 'try'! What a powerful statement!...there's no wiggle room there!"
And here's the brilliant thing about this statement: Even 'doing' a small thing to improve your health (ie. an exercise class, having a healthy meal, a yoga class, taking a walk) is actually a big step in the overall scheme of things! Even though these first few 'steps' toward better health feel small, they are tremendous leaps in the overall journey. The reason why is beautiful. Anything we do for our betterment has inevitable effects of feeling better, happier, stronger, lighter, having more energy and having better self-esteem. And these marvelous rewards only inspire us to 'do' even more for our personal betterment! Step by step, as you continue discovering more of the health and well-being that is awaiting you, the crucial Desire for health becomes stronger too. This is what assures a Destiny of healthful transformation and continual progress! It's all a matter of getting it rolling and letting the snow-ball effect take over!

GETTING STARTED ON YOUR PATH
Make some practical steps toward achieving your goals for 2010. Get outside, take walks, go for a run, consult with a nutritionist, buy a membership at your local gym, hire a trainer,...and of course, most important: EAT BETTER!!!
This is the easiest of all! If you need some helpful tips on how to get started then let's schedule a consultation, or you can refer to my Newsletter page for articles that will give you the information and added inspiration you need to make some positive changes with your diet.

Here's another reason why any improvement in your diet is a vital ingredient in the overall recipe for success: you have a 6th sense, or 'intuitive nutrition' that is built to your advantage. Call it instinct. Here's how it works: Adding more nutritious foods to your diet and devising a healthier eating pattern equals feeling better in every way! Very naturally your palate shifts to favor foods that build health and make you feel good. And there is a double advantage here. Junk foods and things that detract from your health begin to lose their appeal and just fall away over time. This is why nutrition is a powerful place to begin any journey toward better overall health.
And more good news...the natural "feel good" reward of eating better simply 'pulls' you further in the right direction. Diets that require 'pushing' yourself and counting calories are an old model that we can only sustain so long and tend to wear on the human spirit. My method is devised to work synergistically between your individual instinct of what foods feel good for your body type and simple principles of the right fats, carbohydrates, and nutrients that can be applied to any diet/lifestyle. To find our more about just what these principle are, please refer to articles, "The Key Principles for a Healthy Diet" and "Understanding Fats". These can both be found on my Nutrition Newsletter page.
It's also helpful to consider the interconnectedness of your nutrition with every other aspect of your health and particularly exercise, and energy levels. For example, working out in the gym; it requires ENERGY! The quality of food/fuel we feed ourselves is certainly one of the most direct influences on what kind of ENERGY we have that can then be used for health building activities and exercise. It's a law of nature that deserves consideration for those who intend to exercise!

In this world it is your nature to thrive and succeed! Awesome health is your destiny! I hope that you will find this information helpful as your ever-improving health continues to be an example of this reality!
Marvelous, isn't it, that we are on this journey toward better health together!
Wishing you the BEST~!
